MILITARY SERVICE
William H. Keniry entered the U.S.Army as an enlisted man at Ft. Dix, N.J. on April 19, 1956. Six months later at Ft. Knox, Ky, he received a direct commission as a First Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He attended and completed the military law special course at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, Va. He was then assigned to the Office of the Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Army at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., as government appellate counsel. He briefed and argued over 200 court martial criminal appeals before Boards of Review and the United States Court of Military Appeals. After three and one-half years of active duty he was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain.
